I remember what it felt like to be lost in my own life, silenced by my mental health symptoms, and feeling little to no hope in it changing.

It seemed like other people just had it together. They knew what they wanted in life, things came relatively easy for them, and they weren’t having an identity crisis every year.

On top of that, it was never really clear how to change when all I was told was, “do the work,” “find a therapist,” and “sit in your feelings.”

The reason why I love to do this work is not only because it saved my own life, but because I deeply know that when we are informed and aligned with ourselves, we are beyond powerful.

about me

I hold a master's degree in counselling, and my work centers on fostering a deep relationship with oneself, embodiment, and self-connection. I focus on living fully in your body, healing the nervous system, developing intrinsic value and worth, and nurturing genuine confidence and self-esteem.

Because the relationship we have with ourselves is the most important one we will ever have, I will always emphasize how powerful it is to embrace our own individual healing journeys.

I believe that identity, self-expression, and connection to self, is the most powerful gift we can give ourselves.

I leveraged my own life experiences to take control of my story. Along this journey, I gained insight into the systemic gaps and the challenges many people encounter while seeking genuine healing instead of temporary band-aid solutions.

“I never thought I was creative or self-expressive because I couldn’t draw or do well in art class. I boxed myself into a ‘non creative person.’ But we’re all creative, we’re all self expressive, it’s how we play and heal. I just had to find what it was for me.”

My Story

  • 2015-2017

At my lowest point in mental health—during an abusive and violent relationship—I felt isolated, depressed, anxious, and numb to many aspects of my life. I came to the realization that I needed to take action to reclaim my life and begin pursuing the future I truly desired. I was full of anger and sadness; with no idea how to feel this I turned to numbing and suppressing.

  • 2018-2020

I immersed myself in therapy and grad school, and realized that addressing my issues with others wasn’t enough; I needed to closely examine my relationship with myself. To achieve true wellness, I began working on my identity, learning to express myself, understanding my own narrative, healing IN my body (this was transformational) and translating my thoughts into meaningful actions. This led to a significant shift in my self-identity and relationship to myself, allowing me to align my life with the person I aspired to be.

  • 2020-2024

I launched my private practice and began providing one-on-one therapy while also working in provincial healthcare. In this role, I helped hundreds of individuals heal, confront, and break free from the assumptions, beliefs, and systems that dictate who they should be. Over this time I've ran educational and therapy groups, workshops, created and implemented new programming and therapeutic treatment paths, assessments, family/couple/individual therapy, taught, identified, and implemented a wide range of skills to help manage symptoms.

My focus has been on guiding people toward embracing the lives they envision for themselves, rather than simply adhering to others' expectations.

DEEPLY ALIGNED

My work has now impacted millions globally, gaining viral attention on both Instagram and TikTok. People from various backgrounds resonate with my perspective and approach to mental health. As a result, I’ve been featured in numerous articles, news outlets, and podcast episodes. By offering innovative strategies for understanding mental health and alleviating symptoms, I help individuals reach their goals more quickly.

The work I do is a direct reflection of the challenges and triumphs I’ve experienced in my own life, grounded in solid therapeutic and scientific principles. My identity is shaped by numerous failures and missteps along my journey. Confronting myself allowed me to guide both myself and others with compassion. I am deeply dedicated to supporting your journey and offering a variety of methods to help you. While I don’t believe everyone needs the same method at the same time, I do believe in the importance of community, integration, experience, and guidance as we navigate our paths.

“Self-reflection is this constant process that is always happening within us. When we peel ourselves back inch by inch, moment by moment, we start to see ourselves in a more gentle and compassionate lens. We understand our story, what happened to us, and how it shaped us. It’s never too late to come home to ourselves, to see one another, to feel a stronger sense of identity. We heal together.” -Nikki
